Our hair sticks and earrings are all handcrafted in the USA with care and attention to detail. Our work is inspired by the vibrancy and colors of nature, using natural materials to complement and enhance the beauty of long hair. Luxurious, high-quality components

We use genuine crystals, glass and semi-precious stone beads, including:

      Genuine SwarovskiŽ crystals: these have been made in Austria since the 19th century. They are known as the finest crystals in the world; machine-cut for flawless consistency, they have an incredible color, shine, clarity and sparkle.

      Fire-polished Czech glass beads: high quality craftsmanship using the finest materials produces beads with rich, vivid colors and a reputation for excellence. The beads are glazed in a red-hot oven to produce beautiful, glistening colors. Some beads have an 'aurora borealis' finish, which is a coating that reflects in the colors of an oil slick when the light hits the coated facets.

      Crackle glass beads: made by immersing hot glass in water so it cracks, these have a multitude of reflective surfaces to catch the light. They are smooth to the touch as they are reheated and molded or blown after cracking, so the cracks seal over.

      Desert sun beads: these clear glass beads are coated in genuine silver or gold. They are then coated with color and fired, which causes the color to shrink away from the plating, forming 'fissures' of silver or gold in a colored bead.

      Semi-precious stones: these have been used in jewelry, and also as currency, for nearly 40,000 years. Stones such as aventurine, tiger eye, unakite, malachite and jasper provide a myriad of colors used in our designs. There are always variations in natural materials and so no two stones will be the same, providing a wonderful uniqueness in our designs. Many semi-precious stones are thought to have metaphysical or healing properties, for example jasper is thought to give a sense of well-being, tiger eye gives clear-eyed vision and malachite is the 'stone of transformation'.

The metal beads and fittings we use are all plated with genuine silver. Earring studs and hooks are also silver-plated and so will not cause allergies.

Smooth, snag-free hair sticks do not damage hair

Our hair sticks are made from wood, bone or silver-plated brass. All our hair sticks are completely smooth and so will not snag on or damage hair. They are pointed to allow easy insertion and removal. Hair sticks are actually some of the least damaging accessories to use with long hair. The wooden sticks have either a natural, dark wood or painted gloss finish. The bone sticks are made using bone which is a by-product from the meat and leather industries; animals are not killed specifically to produce bone. However, we realize that not everyone is happy with using bone accessories. If you see a design you like which uses bone sticks, we would be happy to either re-design it using wood, or if we cannot source the same materials, we will help you choose something similar made with wooden sticks.
